Small grammatical words in Bulgarian - exercises

Surely one of the most difficult aspects of Bulgarian is the abundance of small grammatical words that substitute nouns called pronouns or местоимения, and yes, other languages have them too however in Bulgarian the pronouns have the tendency to have a very specific place in the sentence in relationship with the verb.

So if we had the following sentence for example:

Иван дава букета на Ася. we can substitute pretty much all the nouns and get: Той ѝ го дава. but Дава ѝ го.

Филип се вижда с Андрей. - Той се вижда с него. but Вижда се с него.

Дай на София телефона ѝ. - Дай си ѝ го. but Не си ѝ го давай.

etc.

We made a little online booklet that can help you get some needed exercise and some guidelines about using the pronouns in Bulgarian.

In order to make this a bit clearer here is a table of the pronouns:

Mastering the pronouns is a difficult but possible task. What is most important to remember is to give yourself time to practice, hear and use them in real-life. We hope this post will be useful for you! Keep learning and don't forget that language is a game. :)
